Providing Sustainable Solutions towards Community Evolution
"The quality of water and the quality of life in all its infinite forms are critical parts of the overall, ongoing health of this planet of ours, not just here in the Amazon, but everywhere... The hardest part of any big project is to begin. We have begun. We are underway. We have a passion. We want to make a difference. "
-- Sir Peter Blake (1948-2001)
What does ASSIST means to us?
ASSIST stands for Aiding in Sustainable Solutions International Support Team
ASSIST means to partner with low-income families and communities to preserve, enhance, grow, revitalize and sustain a quality way of life.
Why we feel there is a need?
Many communities have no access to running water, education, food, quality health care and/or electricity. These areas in particular experience many hardships as a result to their living conditions leading to illness, diseases, death, poor sanitation and unhealthy/unstable environmental issues. Often times, they just need a little assistance to make it through these life’s challenges. However, low incomes and lack of resources do not allow them to be candidates for governmental assistance, credit cards or bank loans that you or I may rely on to get us through tuff times. These families have little to no options. People in these situations are prone to becoming apart of a continuous cycle of wanting to do better, but being unable to that generates continuous poverty and disparity, unless we choose to step in to help make a difference.
How we plan to meet that need?
We plan to become advocates for indigenous families and communities through providing sustainable resources for their cultural growth, prosperity, and livelihood.
